AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (CGC) testing
If your dog has good manners, he or she may be eligible for an award from the American Kennel Club. All
dogs (mixed breeds also welcome) who pass the CGC test receive a certificate from the AKC. The AKC Canine Good Citizen Program
is rapidly becoming recognized as the standard of behavior for dogs. Canine Good Citizen resolutions have been passed by many
state legislatures, insurance companies are starting to use CGC to insure breeds they would not otherwise insure, and some
condominium associations now require that all dogs in the complex have earned the Canine Good Citizen award.

Bring buckle or slip collar of leather, fabric or chain, 6' leather or fabric leash, comb or brush,
and AKC or ILP registration number if your dog has one. (No pinch collars, head halters, etc. are permitted). You may
bring treats for after the testing.
